The post-independence era of 1970s in Singapore proved to be a challenging time for many businesses. Despite the tough times, Mr C. K. Chan as a teenager, was already an entrepreneur at heart, setting up his own business as a wholesaler of branded cosmetic, perfume and toiletry products as he saw the potential in the beauty market. He then decided to focus his passion and vision in the niche area of nail polish where Mayer Cosmetics was born. The rest is history.
